Goal Statement:
Amelia’s professional goals for the future center around the idea that meaningful learning often happens outside of a classroom, and that there is a considerable advantage to incorporating technology into early learning by allowing programs to provide individualized learning while accommodating the individualized needs of all learners making learning experiences accessible. Amelia plans to combine her work background with her formal education and apply these experiences to her future career. She hopes to find a position that allows her to develop and evaluate learning tools and experiences for young learners and educators while continuing to learn more about human development and education. ​​​​​​​
Bio:
Amelia recently completed a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology at the University of Tampa. She is pursuing a certificate in User-Centered Design from Parsons School of Design. Her undergraduate experience includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tampa including interdisciplinary coursework in child development and education. 
The Instructional Design and Technology program at the University of Tampa provides students with an understanding of learners and knowledge of developing instruction using systematic analysis and multimedia design tools. 
As well as a formal education in development and learning, Amelia also has 7 years of experience working directly with children in a variety of settings including formal and private child care, early education, and museum education. These environments included children of all ages and a variety of developmental levels and abilities. 
Currently, Amelia is an Intern at Welfie, a educational technology company that lives at the intersection of health and education. Amelia has carried reserach and worked on tools for products that makes access to mental health care easier to hard to reach youth populations. 
Amelia resides in the New York metropolitan area.
During her master’s program, she has gained skills that will support these goals, including: 
In-depth knowledge of learning theories. 
An understanding of instructional design principles including the ADDIE model, ARCS motivational model,  and Gange’s Nine Events of Instruction. 
Experience with multimedia instructional design tools including Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, and Audacity.
